1. Introduction
This policy explains how we handle information when providing MediaGo software, websites, accounts and related services. Desktop downloading and website analytics process information differently, as described below.
2. Privacy-first by design
MediaGo is not a cloud download service. All video downloading, processing and conversion happen on your local computer. We don't own, control or access your local files. That means downloaded videos, viewing history and other sensitive data never leave your machine.
3. What we collect
We process the following information to provide licensing, accounts and support, and to improve the website when you allow analytics:
- Order and license info: when you buy a paid edition, we record your email address (as your account identifier) and the order ID. We use this to email you the license key and verify license status.
- Device info: to prevent license abuse, activation generates a one-way device fingerprint based on your hardware. The fingerprint is irreversible and used only to verify license consistency.
4. How we handle payment info
We don't directly process or store your credit card, bank account or payment passwords. All payments go through secure third-party providers (WeChat Pay, Alipay). We only receive a payment-success notification so we can activate your service.
5. Use and sharing
We use your information only to:
- Verify your software license status.
- Re-send your license key by email when you forget it.
- On rare occasions, send critical product updates or security notices.
- Understand website traffic sources, page usage and purchases when you allow website analytics.
We will never sell, rent or share your personal information with third-party advertisers.
6. Data security
We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your license info. All network traffic (including activation checks) is sent over encrypted HTTPS. Internal access is restricted to authorized staff for support purposes only.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access: review the license info we currently hold about you.
- Correct: if your email changes, contact us to update it.
- Delete: request that we delete your account info at any time (this will deactivate your license).
8. Cookies and website analytics
Essential cookies support sign-in, account security, payments and your privacy choices. Rejecting optional analytics does not affect sign-in or purchases.
Website analytics starts only with your permission. The production website uses Google Analytics and Baidu Analytics, which may process page URLs, referrers, browser and device details, IP addresses and cookie identifiers. GA4 also receives purchase and refund events, including amounts, currencies and transaction identifiers, to measure purchases. We do not send email addresses, payment passwords or full payment credentials in custom analytics parameters.
Google and Baidu process analytics data under their respective privacy policies. Google processing may involve servers outside your country. See the providers’ official information for their cookies, retention periods and processing practices.
Reject optional analytics or withdraw consent using the button below or Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops future analytics reporting and clears related analytics cookies and attribution records accessible to this site. The page may refresh to stop scripts already loaded. Withdrawal does not automatically delete data previously received lawfully by a provider; contact us to request deletion or exercise other rights. Choices are stored in your current browser. Clearing site data, changing browsers or expanding analytics purposes may require a new choice.
