1. Introduction

Welcome to MediaGo. We take your privacy seriously. As a local desktop application, MediaGo is built around a single principle: privacy first. This policy explains, transparently, how we handle information when you use the MediaGo software and related services.

2. Privacy-first by design

MediaGo is not a cloud download service. All video downloading, processing and conversion happen on your local computer. We don't own, control or access your local files. That means downloaded videos, viewing history and other sensitive data never leave your machine.

3. What we collect

To run licensing, customer support and product improvements, we only collect what's strictly necessary:

  • Order and license info: when you buy a paid edition, we record your email address (as your account identifier) and the order ID. We use this to email you the license key and verify license status.
  • Device info: to prevent license abuse, activation generates a one-way device fingerprint based on your hardware. The fingerprint is irreversible and used only to verify license consistency.

4. How we handle payment info

We don't directly process or store your credit card, bank account or payment passwords. All payments go through secure third-party providers (WeChat Pay, Alipay). We only receive a payment-success notification so we can activate your service.

5. Use and sharing

We use your information only to:

  • Verify your software license status.
  • Re-send your license key by email when you forget it.
  • On rare occasions, send critical product updates or security notices.

We will never sell, rent or share your personal information with third-party advertisers.

6. Data security

We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your license info. All network traffic (including activation checks) is sent over encrypted HTTPS. Internal access is restricted to authorized staff for support purposes only.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access: review the license info we currently hold about you.
  • Correct: if your email changes, contact us to update it.
  • Delete: request that we delete your account info at any time (this will deactivate your license).
